Harry and Larry's Bar-B-Que is a small BBQ restaurant in historic downtown Winter Garden Florida. Their personality is a fusion of old and new. The restaurant features a unique collection of antiques and antique signs.

The Challenge

Harry and Larry's BBQ is a unique fusion of classic and modern design. We needed a design that would complement this creating a feeling of familiarity for first time visitors of the site once they have made their first trip to the restaurant. We also needed to direct visitors to their associated social networking destinations. Finally, the site needed to perform the standard functions of presenting the potential patron with an over view of the menu and entice them to come and eat.

Features

Familiar look and feel. We integrated the design elements of the restaurant into the graphic design of the website.

We never want to have the user leave the clients site so we have integrated lightbox style plugin that creates a dimmed light effect around the main page while displaying the image gallery and google map link.

Layout

Immediately a visitor is greeted with a massive CTA banner. Not only do I know exactly where I am, I also have unshakeable desire to go order some food from Harry and Larry's BBQ. I wonder why?

On the left we have an exact replica of the menu you will see on the outside of the restaurant. Not only is it informative, educating the visitor, but also making the visitor familiar with something they have yet to experience. When they arrive at the restaurant for the first time it wont feel so foreign, somewhat familiar.

In the main area on the front page we have an info rotator. Both further engaging and educating the user. Also integrated are some of the photographs we took at the restaurant to get the proverbial juices flowing.

Navigation

When you order at Harry and Larry's they give you a playing card instead of a number. A unique twist that we wanted to bring into the design. To bring this in we added navigation links on the front page that are playing cards.
